Welcome to the Perfect Time to Plant!

Summer is hard on your yard, with hot temperatures, wear and tear, and weed takeovers. If your lawn and landscape looks like it went thought the ringer the past few months, we have good news. September is actually THE perfect time to plant tulips, hyacinths, shade trees, and others for the most beautiful spring bloom.

Here’s why:
  • Cooler fall air temperatures provide relief from the scorching sun and help reduce stress of the plant. (The lower temps are good for gardeners too!)
  • The temperatures lessen the requirement of water, especially for new plants! Water less, roots grow more.
  • The timing allows roots to establish and flourish over the winter rather than the same time they’re developing new buds and leaves. In turn, this produces fuller plants come spring.

In addition to new planting, September is also the perfect time for overseeding. Overseeding is the process of applying grass seed through an existing lawn via cuts made into the soil is a common practice to repair bare spots and reinvigorate turf. A hot summer full of wear and tear can take its toll on any lawn, so when September brings moisture and cooler temps it creates the perfect environment for a complete lawn rejuvenation.

Give your landscape a facelift this fall either with fall planting for beautiful spring blooms and new shade trees, or overseeding for the best lawn on the block come next summer. Call Ground Crew Service for a quote today!
